OVERVIEW
This three-day, two-night course focuses on Counter-UAS awareness, concealment from aerial observation, camouflage, fieldcraft, fighting-position signature management, vehicle concealment, and reducing visual, thermal, light, noise, and movement signatures in open terrain.
Modern drones and commercially available UAS platforms have significantly changed how personnel, positions, equipment, and vehicles can be observed from above. This course is designed to teach students how to recognize those signatures and reduce unnecessary exposure through proper fieldcraft, terrain selection, camouflage, movement discipline, and site selection.
Students will learn how terrain, vegetation, lighting, equipment placement, movement, heat, noise, disturbed ground, vehicle placement, and individual behavior can increase or decrease visibility to aerial observation platforms.
Instructor-operated drones may be used throughout the course to provide students with direct aerial feedback. Students will be able to observe how different positions, camouflage methods, vehicles, equipment configurations, and movement techniques appear from above.
The course includes two nights in the field, allowing students to apply concealment and signature-management principles during daylight, low-light, nighttime, and first-light conditions.
This course does not teach electronic jamming, GPS interference, drone takeover, aircraft destruction, or other restricted Counter-UAS activities. Training focuses on lawful detection, awareness, passive protection, concealment, camouflage, signature reduction, reporting, and fieldcraft.

Students must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and all course safety requirements.
Counter-UAS instruction focuses exclusively on lawful and passive measures. Students will not conduct unauthorized interference with aircraft, radio-frequency communications, GPS systems, or other electronic systems.
Students may be removed from training at any time for unsafe behavior or conduct inconsistent with course policies.

Instructor-operated drones may be used to evaluate students during controlled field exercises.

Students will receive aerial feedback and make immediate adjustments.
NIGHT 1 — LOW-LIGHT SIGNATURE MANAGEMENT & BIVY
Students will move to and establish their first overnight bivy / concealed field position.
